Texas Paintmaster is one of the longest-tenured professional painting companies in Montgomery and Harris county. Choosing Colors
At Texas Paintmaster, we know that color sets a mood and can also make a room appear smaller (dark colors) or larger (light colors). The perception of color appears to change with different lighting, i.e., sun/shade, day/night. Color samples are recommended to ensure you will like the colors in your home. Our Sales Manager will have fan decks for your use.
Preparation
Our painters will fully prepare the interior of your home and protect your belongings. Flooring is protected with drop cloths, builder's paper, or plastic and taped down at the edges. Furniture is moved away from walls and protected with plastic or drop cloths. Switch plates, outlet covers, and window blinds/shades are removed. All surface mounted or hanging light fixtures, and all window glass is protected with plastic and/or painter's tape
General Repairs
We also have the skills to perform complex repairs in your home; these will be specifically noted on your estimate. These include replacing or repairing sheet rock; scraping; tape and bedding (all Levels); texturing; sanding; removing wall paper; and caulking cracks along door jambs, baseboards and ceiling crown.
Painting
At Texas Paintmaster, we use only superior materials from Sherwin-Williams ®, Benjamin Moore ®, PPG Pittsburgh Paints ®, and other premium paint brands you know and trust. Paint is applied using either a brush and roll method or spray. Each project is unique and the best method will be used.
+ Clean Up
At the end of each work day, we will clean up and remove all supplies, tools, and trash. All trash is removed and disposed of properly off-site. We will also put the furniture back where it belongs, rehang shades and blinds, and replace all switch plates and outlet covers. When we leave, your room will be ready for you to enjoy.
There are a number of steps required to ensure a quality exterior paint job on your home. Many people watch the do-it-yourself shows for home improvement projects, but they don't realize that using the wrong products can seriously damage their home, or that problems can result when trying to paint without proper preparation or tools. When working with Texas Paintmaster, you can expect our Exterior Process to give your home the protection it deserves.
Power Washing
All buildings will have layers of dirt, mildew, algae and/or cobwebs that require removal prior to the application of any products. Power washing is one of the most important steps in preparing the home for exterior painting and is crucial in ensuring that the paint will adhere properly.
Scraping and Wood Repair
Loose paint must be removed after power washing so that the paint adheres correctly and will last longer. This ensures a smooth and tight surface for painting. Loose boards are nailed down, and our experienced crew can handle most repairs.
Priming
With the preparation work completed, your home will have a tight and clean surface ready for priming. Our painting procedures treat all exposed surfaces with premium bonding primers which seal the surface and provide a sound foundation for proper adhesion of the new finish-coat products. Bare wood, metal surfaces, water stains, rust and new carpentry are primed.
Caulking
We caulk seams, joints, cracks and major wood joints. Any loose glazing is removed and replaced in order to ensure a tight seal and reduce air leaks and moisture entry points in vulnerable areas. We use siliconized latex caulk (40 year life) on all exterior entrances, structural joints, and wood windows.
Painting or Staining
Color samples are recommended to ensure that you will like the colors on your home. Our Managers carry fan decks for you to choose. Texas Paintmaster uses only premium paints and stains from Sherwin-Williams ®, Benjamin Moore ®, and PPG Pittsburgh Paints ®. Any approvals for color changes required by Homeowners’ Associations are the responsibility of the homeowner. The range of options in painting or staining, the intended use, and some pros and cons of each treatment will be explained at the time of your estimate.
